The project

Prowind is planning the development of a four turbine wind energy project on land to the south of the village of Haunton.

Each turbine will have three blades and an overall maximum height to tip of 125m. It is estimated that the project will be generating for the full 25 year lifetime of the turbines, after which the site will be fully decommissioned.

Wind turbines are currently in high demand internationally and so the exact model of turbine will be chosen as a result of availability and suitability at the time of construction. However all assessments into the project will be based upon the Vestas V90 2MW wind turbine with a 80m tower and a 90m rotor diameter. The turbine finally selected for the site will have to match the enviornmental parameters of this machine

The current layout of the proposed wind farm can be viewed on the Interactive Map.
